1960s

1960
Bill built a Special hot rod V8 Ford Falcon which was presented to William Clay Ford, then vice President of Styling. Mr. Ford loved driving the car around California during his West Coast stays.

1960-70′s
Stroppe was west Coast distributor for Bardahl and also maintained Miss Bardahl cup boat.

1963
Ford Factory gets back into sponsoring racing and Stroppe opens a shop in Atlanta for the NASCAR circuit.

Parnelli Jones sets new record at Pikes Peak in a Stroppe built 1963 Mercury Marauder.

1964
Built a team of Mercury Comets for the East African Safari Rally.

Teamed up with Parnelli Jones and went on to win eight major races and U.S.A.C. Championship for Lincoln-Mercury.

1965
In August of 1965 Ford sent two of their newly released Broncos to Stroppe for testing. In 1966 he took one out to one of the earliest off-road races in Riverside, CA to see the vehicles capabilities. He took the vehicle back to Riverside a few weeks later to show it to the press and let them test drive it. The event was marketed as the Bronco roundup. The event provide Ford such positive exposure they hired Stroppe to continue to promote the Bronco.

Holman Moody and Stroppe was teamed with Ford Motor company support to handle high perfomance products for the west coast. Holman Moody and Stroppe build Marine motors for boats engines for fords Drag teams and built Race cars for private individuals.  Holman Moody and Stroppe was primarily formed to team up with there combined talent in the south and the west coast to prepare Two GT 40s one prepared in N.C. and the other in California at the Stroppe facility as well as a Carol Shelby prepared Ford GT 40s Ford took the best of the best to Lemans France and finally destroyed the European competition.

1967
The Bronco and Stroppe enter the inaugural Baja 1000.  Rod Hall and Larry Minor win their Class in a Bronco.

Bill Stoppe starts Stroppe and Associates to become the West coast shop for maintaining Ford’s Press fleet.

1968
Stroppe Built Bronco wins the Overall Baja 1000 and other major dessert races

1969
Stroppe Built Bronco wins the Overall Baja 1000 and other major dessert races

Stropped crewed a car for Bobby Unser and together they won the Pikes Peak Hill climb. Bobby and Al Unser drive a Stroppe prepared Bronco in the Mint 400.
